I have been most moved by the wonderful welcome I have received in Karachi. Everyone has been so kind, and for me this day will always remain a brilliant memory.

I would like to begin by expressing my very real appreciation of the honour you have shown me by inviting me to address you here this afternoon.

Mowlana Hazar Imam and Begum Salima visited Tanzania from November 20th to November 26th, 1982 as part of khudavinds' Silver Jubilee Tour, and also briefly visited Uganda.

Mowlana Hazar Imam and Begum Saheba were guests of Mr. Alexandre Hay, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, at a luncheon a the ICRC Headquarters in Geneva on Monday May 20th.

May I first thank you, Mr. President, for the very great honour you have paid to the Ismaili community, to my wife and to myself in joining us here today to lay the Foundation Stone of the Aga Khan Hospital and Medical College.

Mawlana Hazar Imam's memorable visit to London in August this year brought together jamats from around the world in a celebration of the ties that bind the community across frontiers and of our Imam-e-Zaman's affection and concern for the jamat worldwide.

Mawlana Hazar Imam was honoured by Italy's President Francesco Cossiga, when he was presented with the country's highest honor, the Cavaliere del Lavoro, at a ceremony in Rome on Wednesday, October 26, 1988.

Mawlana Hazar Imam visited Uganda and Kenya for five days in April, and signed accords with the Governments of both countries on behalf of the Aga Khan Development Network.The Accords of Co-operation for Development acknowledge the development network's contribution to development in the region o

Mawlana Hazar Imam visited Pakistan from Saturday, March 11 to Tuesday, March 21. He arrived in Islamabad on March 11 where he had meetings with his Excellency President Ghulam Ishaq Khan and Her Excellency Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, as well as with other government ministers.

Mawlana Hazar Imam received an honourary degree of Doctor of Literature in Education on Wednesday, October 11, 1989, from the University of London, England.

Mawlana Hazar Imam on Monday 10th December, 1990 signed a Protocol of Agreement on behalf of the Aga Khan Trust for Culture with the Governor of Cairo H.E. Mahmoud Sherif for the creation of a public park in one of historic Cairo's last remaining open spaces.

Mawlana Hazar Imam met with the President of the World Bank, Mr. Lewis Preston, in Washington, D.C. On October 23, 1992. Mawlana Hazar Imam and Mr.

MAWLANA HAZAR IMAM CONFERS DEGREES AT THIRD ANNUAL CONVOCATION OF THE AGA KHAN UNIVERSITY

Mawlana Hazar Imam and Mrs. Lynda Chalker, Minister for Overseas Development, on Thursday 16th May, 1991 signed an exchange of letters relating to the pledging of UK Pounds 4.7 million, by the British Government, to the Aga Khan Rural Support Programme in Chitral, Northern Pakistan.

Mawlana Hazar Imam and Her Highness Begum Salimah Saheba were felicitated at a join meeting of the Rotary Clubs of Bombay. New Bombay and Thane at Oberoi-Sheraton Hotel on Wednesday, 25th January,1978 when Mawlana Hazar Imam was presented a memento by Rotary International Director Soli Pavri.

Karachi, Nov 11: Prince Karim Aga Khan, the spiritual leader of the Ismaili community, announced on Monday the establishment of endowment funds for the Aga Khan University Faculty of Health Sciences and the Aga Khan University Hospital.

Just as there is only one pope there is only one Aga Khan.
He is 'Imam' - spiritual leader - to the world's 15 million Ismaili Moslems.

It is with great happiness that I send you this message for the Health Seminar which the Aga Khan Central Health Board of Pakistan and UNICEF have organised to Commemorate the International Year of the Child.

I want to begin by saying, quite simply, how delighted we are to be in China. China is a nation we constantly read about and discuss. But for most of us, myself included, it is the first time we have actually seen and visited this fascinating country.

I would like to begin by expressing my appreciation of the opportunity you have given me today to speak in this important city of Europe.

I would like to begin by thanking His Majesty King Hussein for honouring us by opening our seminar. His participation clearly illustrates Jordan's concern for the evolution of Islamic architecture.

In 1980, the first Aga Khan Award for Architecture will be presented. Prior to that, five seminars are to be held to discuss various criteria and categories for the Award, as well as some of the other mundane aspects of its organization.

In a recent interview in New York, the Aga Khan answered question from LIFE reporter Margot Dougherty and Managing Editor Richard B. Stolley.

In February, Prince Amyn visited Lisbon, Portugal, in connection with important developments that will affect the future activities of the Aga Khan Development Net-work (AKDN) and of the jamat in Portugal.

In recent guidance to the jamat, Mawlana Hazar Imam has referred to various developments that have taken place in the world over the last four decades.

In June 1994 the Honourable Andre Ouellet, Minister of Foreign Affairs, approved a $25 million contribution to AKFC over an eight year period for the Pakistan Social Institutions' Development Program (SIDP). AKFC will contribute financially as well as in kind to this program.

It has been a great pleasure to visit this fine institution and it is my sincere hope that with the support of everyone connected with it, we will succeed together in extending its services to the people of Kisumu and more generally the province.

It gives Me the greatest pleasure to be with you today on My first visit to Pakistan after having assumed My new responsibilities. I am deeply moved by the warmth of your welcome and I shall cherish the memory of your love and affection for Me on this My first visit.
