The British Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher, officially opened the Ismaili Centre in London, England. Hazar Imam, as well as Government Ministers and other dignitaries were present at this historic occasion. In His speech, Hazar Imam referring to the general public's belief that national political disputes in Islamic countries were a part of their religion, said: ' such a distorted portrayal of the true background causes unnecessary misunderstanding of Islamic questions and hinders mature response to them.' Mrs. Thatcher paid tribute to the Ismaili community and said: 'The community in Britain is self-sufficient and independent, energetic and highly talented '
