Abstract  

The importance of the current work is noted in the fact that it is ‘the only
extant work in Ismaili literature that tackles a specific aspect of the dawa: a
normative guideline for Ismaili dias’ (p. 3). Since it was written by a member of
the Fatimid dawa, the Risala is without question a crucial eyewitness of how the
dawa was self-conceived.
