Hazrat Shams Tabrizi the teacher of Rumi was also confused with Pir Shams Subzwari of the Ismailis who traveled to many places such as China, Tibet. Shams Tabriz was Ismaili said Mowlana Sultan Muhammad Shah at the Evian Conference in 1952. But he also said that Rumi was not an Ismaili though pupil of an Ismaili.
