Pakistani nurses to get training according to international standard - 2003-06-02

It has been decided by Overseas Pakistanis Foundation to train Pakistani nurses according to international standards that they may be in a better position to compete in international job market.A meeting took place between Federal Minister for Labour, Manpower and Overseas Pakistanis Mian Abdul Sattar Laleka and President Agha Khan University Hospital, Dr Shams Qasim Lakha here, says an official release here Sunday.
The minister expressed his desire for the joint working of the Agha Khan University Hospital and Overseas Pakistanis Foundation to train Pakistani nurses for international job market.
The Minister said that improvement in skills of Pakistani nurses would not only help to capture world job market but would also help to raise efficiency of the nurses with in the country.
The Agha Khan University Hospital is already training nurses according to the standards which are already recognized and appreciated the world over. Dr Shams Qasim Lakha agreed to the proposal in general and promised that Agha Khan Hospital would help OPF in providing advice and expertise to conclude the project successfully.
