President Bashar Assad received here Saturday Ismaelite Moslems Spiritual Leader, Prince Karim Agha Khan. Talks during the meeting dealt with the situation in the Middle Asia and with efforts that the Islamic states have to exert as to distinguish the Islam from the extremist aspects which were attributed to it. The Prince briefed President Assad on the projects which Agha Khan foundation intends to implement in Syria. Agha Khan viewed that Syria is an example to the joint living between all religions. The Prince lauded President Bashar Assad's wisdom and support for the Arab and Islam issues. Earlier, Premier Dr. Mohammad Mostafa Miro received Prince Karim Agha Khan and the accompanying delegation. Talks in the meeting dealt with issues related to the consolidation of cooperation between the government institutions and Agha Khan foundation in the field of implementing the cultural, educational and health projects. Also, Deputy Premier For Service Affairs, Mohammad Naji Otteri received Prince Karim Agha Khan. Talks during the meeting dealt with boosting the standing cooperation between Syria and Agha Khan foundation for culture. Activities and projects of the institution in Syria which include cultural, educational and social fields were reviewed. Later on, Deputy Premier for Economy Affairs, Dr. Khaled Ra'ad met the Prince for talks on standing relations between Syria and Agha Khan foundation for culture and on the joint desire for boosting these relations. The Prince arrived in Damascus yesterday on a visit to Syria accompanied by his daughter and her husband who are managing the activities of Agha Khan foundation for economic and social developments.
