Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali on Saturday said his government was committed to the development of health, education, female literacy and employment in country's remotest areas.
Talking to Prince Karim Aga Khan, who called on him at the Prime Minister House, Jamali appreciated the useful contributions made by the Ismaili community for the socio-economic development of the country. The prime minister particularly noted Aga Khan's contribution towards health and education sectors and expressed the hope that it would hasten country's transition towards economic prosperity. Jamali said his government is according high priority to the development of backward and remote areas of the country. He thanked Prince Karim Aga Khan for evincing keen interest in country's overall development and improving the quality of life of its people.

The prime minister later hosted a luncheon for Prince Karim Aga Khan. It was also attended by cabinet ministers, parliamentarians, senior officials of civil and military bureaucracy and a cross section of the Ismaili community from all over Pakistan. Later, Prince Karim Aga Khan met Senate Chairman Muhammedmian Soomro at the Aiwan-e-Sadr. During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional and international issues came under discussion.

Prince Karim Aga Khan congratulated Muhammadmian Soomro on the assumption of office of the chairman Senate. He also appreciated his support given to the community in its efforts to promote social sector and attract investment in the country.

The chairman Senate commended the contribution of Aga Khan Development Network in social sector, particularly in the fields of education, health and socio-economic development of Pakistan.
