The citadel(fort) is built very tall and very far on the high ground,
down below flows the sea, I am a fish in the sea, O my Master!,
come to save me.
I am uneasy without the glimpse of your face, O my Lover,
come to my home, O my Master come home.
I am your created being who has forgotten the means of your worship.
O my Lord, give me an awakening for the origin of my soul.

My small dwelling is filled with the pleasant smelling aloe wood
and sandlewood. The good deeds have made the door.
Love has locked them. O my Master come to open them.

The worldly family has imprisoned me. Only the person who knows it,
can realise (my condition). The agony (agonising fire of separation)
of my body troubles me; O my Lord cool me down and soothe me.

Do not be very angry, O Lord, please grant me your Holy glimpse (Vision).
Peer Hasaan Shaah requests, O Lord come to save me.
