Aga Khan III writes to Sayyid Ammer Ali, announcing his resignation from the All India Muslim League Presidentship - 1913-11-02

Date:
Sunday, 1913, November 2
Location:

November 2, 1913 - Sir Sultan Mohamed Shah, Aga Khan III sent a letter to Sayyid Ammer Ali, announcing his resignation from the All India Muslim League Presidentship.
In the resignation, Mowlana Sultan Mohamed Shah gave reasons for his decision:

'As you are aware, I have had many personal grounds for wishing to take this course for some time past and your (Sayyid Ammer Ali) resignation now gives me golden opportunity for retiring...I am so circumstanced that I am compelled to be out of India for considerable periods every year. Next year for instance, I have to spend six months in Africa, and I have to be very often in Europe...I am financially interested in some corporations, but I do not propose to sever my connexion with the League...I indeed wish to belong to it's Council, free from the necessarily 'judicial' character that attaches to the Presidency, I can more effectively contribute my share to the service of the community.' (Aziz; 462)
