Aga Khan III gives inaugural speech at the All India Muhammedan Educational Conferences - 1911-12-04

December 4 1911 - Sir Sultan Mohamed Shah, Aga Khan III gave an inaugural speech at the All India Muhammedan Educational Conferences, printed in 'The Times of India', Bombay, 5 December 1911 and 'The Civil and Military Gazette', Lahore, 6 December 1911. The speech was preceded by the address given by Hakim Muhammed Ajmal Khan, as chairman of the reception committee. As the Aga Khan could not be present in person, the speech was read out by Mowlana Shaukat Ali. Nawab Imad-Ul-Mulk, referred to the royal visit and described it as the greatest and most auspicious in their national history. The speech described the purpose of a university and its role in keeping alive the true spirit of Islam. (Aziz; 377)
