Prince Aga Khan Starts 6-day visit to Syria

amascus, (SANA)- His Highness Prince Aga Khan, Head and Founder of Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), arrived in Damascus on Sunday on a 6-day visit to Syria.

He was received at Damascus International Airport by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Abdullah al-Dardari, Minister of Tourism Dr. Saadullah Agha al-Qala'a and Resident Representative of AKDN in Syria Mohammad Mufdi Seifo.

During his visit to Syria, Prince Aga Khan will take part in celebrations marking the end of AKDN-sponsored restoration works at three historical castles: Aleppo, Saladdin and Missiaf.

The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) is a group of development agencies with mandates ranging from health and education to architecture, culture, microfinance, rural development, disaster reduction, the promotion of private-sector enterprise and the revitalisation of historic cities.
