President Zia-ul-Haq of Pakistan announced that 2 bursaries would be given by the Government of Pakistan to the Aga Khan Health Faculty of the AKU to be named after Begum Salimah. In turn, Mowlana Hazar Imam announced the setting of an endowment fund.
