Afghanistan has come a long way since the overthrow of the Taliban nearly two years ago but it remains far from achieving the stability needed to attract serious investment and wean itself off foreign aid. AKFED's Kabul representative Aly Mawji said most potential investors remained extremely wary, but Prince Karim Aga Khan, the hugely wealthy spiritual head of the world's 15 million Shia Ismaili Muslims, had wanted to lead by example.
