Nizar, Institutional Leaders, I would like to begin by saying how deeply happy I have been during these days with My Jamat in Canada.

Now I have spent the last ten days at the estate of the Agakhan -- this is the first interview he has given to North American television. He is the leader if some 15 million Ismaili Muslims who revere him as their 49th Imam.

On 5th June, 1991 in Granada, Spain, King Juan Carlos of Spain and Mawlana Hazar Imam, participated in a ceremony marking the official opening of a restored fourteenth century Arab house in the historic Albaycin quarter of Granada.

On August 7th, 1980 H.S.H. Prince Amyn Mohamed paid a special visit to the venue of the MIS Review Conference II-Nairobi, at the request of Count Sir Eboo Pirbhai, President of the Supreme Council of Europe, U.S.A., Canada & Africa.

On December 10, 1980, an enthusiastic crown of government officials, architects, diplomats, journalists and others had gathered at the Hirshorn Museum to welcome Mowlana Hazar Imam to Washington.

On Friday 24th October, 1986 Mowlana Hazar Imam declared the new Aga Khan club complex open.

On March 12th 1989, Mowlana Hazar Imam performed the Foundation Ceremony for a new girls' hostel in Hyderabad, Sind.

On March 6, 1985, Mawlana Hazar Imam announced a major commitment in the field of Architectural Education for the Islamic World.

On November 18, 1994, Hazar Imam attended the inauguration of the first Professional Development Centre of AKU's Institute for Educational Development by the Chief Justice of Pakistan, the Honorable Mr. Justice Sajjad Ali Shah.

On November 2, 1982 in Dakar, President Abdou Diouf opened the Seventh International Seminar sponsored by the Aga Khan Award for Architecture. Attending the ceremony were His Highness the Aga Khan, Mr. Oumar Welle, Minister for Urban Planning, Habitat and Environment, Mr.

On Saturday, October 25, 1980, Mowlana Hazar Imam and Begum Salimah visited the 721-bed Aga Khan Hospital and Medical College site in Karachi to review construction and progress to date.

On the 18th of June, 1993, Mawlana Hazar Imam presented a keynote address to the World Congress of Architects in which he challenged the world's largest-ever gathering of architects to design and build sustainable environments.

Mowlana Hazar Imam and President Evren of Turkey on September 4, 1983 presented the 1983 Aga Khan Award for Architecture to 11 outstanding projects located in nine countries from Yugoslavia to Malaysia (See the photographs and project descriptions in the present issue of AFRICA ISMAILI).

Mowlana Hazar Imam and Prince Amyn Mohammed landed at Bombay on 21st February, 1969. The occasion for this present visit was to hand over to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Fund through the Government of India the historic Aga Khan Palace at Poona.

Mowlana Hazar Imam calls for a more informed perception of other nations' cultures as an effective gateway to better understanding.

Mowlana Hazar Imam hosted the Rt.Hon.Lynda Chalker, Britain's Minister for Overseas Development, at the Ismaili Centre's Zamana Gallery in London on May 21, 1990.

Mowlana Hazar Imam Shah Karim al-Husayni (a.s.) alongwith Her Highness Begum Saheba paid a visit to the Jamats in the United States of America from 3rd November to 11th November, 1986. Mowlana Hazar Imam blessed Jamats with his holy Deedar. The Jamats of the U.S.A.

Mowlana Hazar Imam Shah Karim Al-Huseini was given a rousing welcome by the Jamat at Dar es Salaam airport when he arrived there on Tuesday, the 10th November at 8 p.m. in his personal Grumman Executive jet.

Mowlana Hazar Imam Shah Karim Al-Hussaini paid a five day visit to Kenya, last month. He was accorded a warm welcome on his arrival in Nairobi from Kampala.Imam-e-Zaman who arrived in his private jet from Entebbe, was met by the Vice-President, Mr.

Mowlana Hazar Imam visited the Jubilee Insurance Company Ltd., to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Company.

Mowlana Hazar Imam was presented with the Nishan in the Order of Pakistan, the country's highest civil award, by President Mohammad Zia Ul-Haq at a ceremony attended by government ministers, diplomats and civic leaders in Islamabad on March 23, 1983.

Mawlana Hazar Imam's memorable visit to London in August this year brought together jamats from around the world in a celebration of the ties that bind the community across frontiers and of our Imam-e-Zaman's affection and concern for the jamat worldwide.

May I first thank you, Mr. President, for the very great honour you have paid to the Ismaili community, to my wife and to myself in joining us here today to lay the Foundation Stone of the Aga Khan Hospital and Medical College.

Mowlana Hazar Imam and Begum Salima visited Tanzania from November 20th to November 26th, 1982 as part of khudavinds' Silver Jubilee Tour, and also briefly visited Uganda.
