The first question Mansoor asked Mowlana Hazar Imam was how had His Highness met the Begum.

The following are excepts from a lecture on 'Islam and the West' given by Prince Charles, the Prince of W ales, at the Sheldonian Theatre, Oxford, England on the 27th of October, 1993:

The greatest untapped resource in the developing world is people. When there is a shortage of properly trained manpower, development projects may be ineffective and valuable resources wasted.

The Ismaili sect, with its social and theologically liberal outlook, is probably the most progressive in the Islamic world. Spread over four continents its adherents are guided by their high profile Imam, Prince Karim Aga Khan.

The Karachi Jamat was blessed with the gracious presence of Sarkar Mowlana Hazar Imam Shah Karim al-Husayni from 13th February 1981 when he arrived at about 11:30 in the night, to Tuesday 17th February, when he left around 10 in the morning.

The leaders of all African Countries today are faced with the need to raise the living standards of the mass of their peoples from mere subsistence level to a point where men and women can develop the full potential of their minds and bodies.

The role of criticism in architecture was the theme of a seminar organized by the Aga Khan Award for Architecture held in Malta, 7 to 9 December 1987.
More than 60 architects, scholars and critics for both developed and developing countries attended the three-day session.

The School, established in 1967, is one of the leading private schools in Tanzania, providing education from Form I to Form VI to seven hundred students, and employing thirty four teachers.

The spiritual leader of 15 million Ismailis - of which 2500 live in France - has made his 24 year old daughter Zahra his privileged partner. The princess grew up in Paris, was schooled in Switzerland, then obtained her degree in Economic Development in the Third World at Harvard.

The third seminar of the Aga Khan Award for Architecture has come to an end.

The University of British Columbia (UBC) and the Aga Khan University (AKU) have announced a joint program to promote academic exchanges and research between the two institutions in the field of respiratory medicine.

This is a pivotal time for Canada's foreign-aid program. Though polls show that most Canadians take pride in Canada's assistance to developing countries, and believe it should continue, the recession has caused some to argue that we should vastly reduce our commitment.

Under bright blue skies, Mowlana Hazar Imam descended the steps of his aircraft onto a red carpet at Bombay's Santa Cruz Airport on Monday, November 9th, 1992 at the start of a 15 day visit to India as a guest of the Government of India.

We have long been looking forward to our first visit to Indonesia and its famed capital of Jakarta; the warmth of our welcome here has more than equalled our expectations.

What can a more efficient and more advanced telephone system do for Pakistan's future?

Shortly after assuming the reins of Imamat His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan started on a whirlwind tour of Ismailis. Before his auspicious arrival at Karachi, the birth place of his grandfather, in August 1957, Imam-e-Zamam visited Ismaili centres at London and Paris.

Since July 1989, AFK's education programme has been concerned with the integration of Zanzibar primary school children into secondary schools in which English is the medium of instruction.

Since last March, Princess Zahra has continued her working sessions with officers of jamati institutions world-wide as they relate to the Women's, Youth, and Social Welfare portfolios.

SLAMABAD, Feb 18: Prince Karim Aga Khan has warmly congratulated Mohammad Nawaz Sharif on the landslide victory achieved by his part in the Feb 3 elections and on assuming the office of Prime Minister.
In a message addressed to the prime minister, Prince Karim Aga Khan said,

Some time ago, Anne Matheson of the Australian Women's Weekly interviewed Begum Salimah in London just before Her Highness's visit with Mowlana Hazar Imam to Australia where they were invited as specia guests of honour for the 1979 Melburne Cup.

Speaking to an audience of 200 business leaders in Zurich (Monday, January 28) Mowlana Hazar Imam called on industrialised nations to expand their economic activity in the countries of the third world.
