Ismaili.NET - Heritage F.I.E.L.D.

A ceremony was held yesterday at the Diwan of the Ismaili Imamat with Prince Amyn to mark the signing of a partnership agreement for the rehabilitation of the historic Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Aflição, located in Branzelo, Gondomar.

The Aga Khan Foundation, which is involved in the fields of health care, education and rural development, chiefly in Asia and Africa, has now been registered in Portugal, Mowlana Hazar Imam announced during His Silver Jubilee Visit to that country in February, 1983.

The Foundation has branches and affiliates in Kenya, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Britain, Canada and the United States.

The welcome my wife and I have received here in Bangladesh has been heartwarming and I sincerely thank you, Mr, Minister, for the kindness of your remarks with regard to my family's work and ideals. Our ideals and those of Bangladesh are both inspired by the same faith, which lays such emphasis on the brotherhood of man. The improvement of the human condition must be a principal obligation of every Muslim, whether those he helps are of his own faith or not.
