H. H. The Aga Khans Visit To Bangladesh - 1979-10-24

Mowlana Shah Karim al-Hussayni Hazar Imam, His Highness The Aga Khan and Her Highness Begum Salimah made a brief stop over at Dacca on their way to Australia. On arrival at Dacca by their private G2 jet plane from Paris in the early morning of Monday, 29th October around 1:30 a.m., Mowlana Hazar Imam and Begum Salimah were received at the airport by the Honourable Deputy Prime Minister Janab Jamaluddin Ahmed, Chief of Protocol, Industries Secretary, Government Officials and leaders and members of the Jamat. The President was represented by his Military Secretary, Birg.

Mowlana Hazir Imams Visit to Bangladesh - 1987-01-06

During the month of December 1986 when the Jamat in Bangladesh received the news that Mowlana Hazir Imam is going to visit Bangladesh in early January 1987 their hearts filled with hapiness, joy and excitement. Soon they became busy in preparation of the visit. Sultanabad Jamat Khana of Dhaka was selected and renovated for deedar.

The 79th meeting of the Board of Directors of the Industrial Promotion and Development Company of Bangladesh Limited (IPDC) was held in the city recently. AFM Sarwar Kamal, Secretary, Ministry of Industries, presided over the meeting.
IPDC's Directors and alternates from the Government of Bangladesh (GOB), International Finance Corporation (IFC), Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC), German Investment and Development Company (DEG) and Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED) attended the meeting.

Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan, son of the late Sir Sultan Mahomed Shah Aga Khan and the late Princess Andree Aga Khan, died in Boston Monday, aged 70 after a short illness, said a press release.

The younger of Sir Sultan Mahomed Shah''s two sons, Prince Sadruddin was the uncle of the present and 49th hereditary Imam (spiritual leader) of the Ismaili Muslims, His Highness the Aga Khan.

The Aga Khan traces his lineage back to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and Prince Sadruddin''s grandmother was the granddaughter of the Qajar Emperor Fath'' Ali Shah.

The Aga Khan School, Dhaka (AKS,D) has just concluded a week-long workshop for incorporating technology into its curriculum. Participants from East Africa, Central Asia, India and Pakistan joined the Senior Section teachers of the AKS,D. Around 54 teachers participated in the training programme, which was designed to make learning for students and teachers more exciting, said a press release.
