Brethern of Purity. In 9th Century, a secrect society of Basra following Ismaili philosphy. They also compiled an encylopedia known as Rasail Ikhwan as-safa. Not to be confused with: a. Ikhwan as safa of 1960 in Cairo, the group that Massignon had dealings with. b. An educational group that was created by Prince Aly Khan in Syria. c. A society called Ikhwan (ahl e safa) that preached salvation through the sufferings of the body.

Son of Pir Shams. Born in Sabzwar. Became Pir in 757AH at the age of 100 years. During the 10 years of his Piratan he travelled to Punjab, Kashmir, Sind and Gujerat.

REHMATULLAH, SEYYED

(14/15e S.) One of the 19 children of Pir Hassan Kabirdin.

SALMAN FARSI

Salman the Persian.Born in the Mazdean religion but became Christian and then Muslim. He was the compaion of Hazrat Ali and Prophet Muhammad. He had a written copy of the Quran according to KIM. In the sequence of Alif/Lam/Mim he has the rank of Pir and is symbolised by the letter "Lam". He died between 20 and 28 AH at the age of 87 years. He buried Bibi Fatima. He himself was buried at Madain. The Soul attains salvation when it reaches the stage of Salman.
