Rise up and be awake (in remembrance and knowledge),
o my heart (soul), why do you fall asleep (in ignorance and forgetfulness)?
The human birth (opportunity) is very precious, then why lose it?

By considering this physical illusory form to be worthy (or pleasant),
do not fall into (it's entrappings). Why do you take pride in the
undertakings (activities) of the world?
Rise up and be awake...

ejee paa(n)trees ne pachavees, sol ne aatth
vaar choraasee faree-o, tune shaan na aaveere
utth jaag man meraa..........................................2

Thirty five and twenty five, sixteen and eight and you have taken eighty
four (lakhs) of rebirths; but you have not attained the sensiblity
(to the inner mysteries of life).
Rise up and be awake...

ejee ettalaa jo feraa fareeyo, maankhaa janam dhareeyo

Now you have another life opportunity so that you may

and integrity. Diamonds, jewels and pearls, why do you lose them
in ignorance and forgetfulness.
Rise up and be awake...

ejee hardam jeekar karnaa, hakse saabat honaa
tan man surat sa(m)shaa, jab ek hotaa hay
utth jaag man meraa.........................................5

Upon every breath remember the name of the Lord,
and be steadfast in righteousness; when the body, mind (heart),
consciousness and the Light of the spirit become one.

When the breath arises from the naval, the nerve curvature becomes activated.
It is the focal point of the three force channels (ingala, pingla and sukhmannaa)
and the tenth (opening or eye) becomes stable.
Rise up and be awake....

[There are nine openings in our body viz two eyes, two ears, two nostrils, mouth,
anus and penis/vagina. The nerve curvature serves as the tenth opening where
Light is experienced.]

ejee ekvees hajaar chhaso, dam deen me(n) ghatt taa hay

utth jaag man meraa..........................................7

In a day, twenty one thousand six hundred breaths occur in your body.
You utilise your entire eight three hour periods (pohors) in your (worldly)
trade. What do you profit from it?
Rise up and be awake....

of the True Guide abondon all the pride."
Rise up and be awake...
