AAVAA GUR-NAR SAAMEE NE SREVEE-E

ejee aavaa gur-nar saamee ne srevee-e,
teto huaddaa shaahaa naa deedaaree-aa
tam su(n) prit ba(n)dhaannee,
evee prit ba(n)dhaannee meetthaa shaam su(n);
tam su(n) neheddo laago moraa naath jee,
tam su(n) prit ba(n)dhaannee......................................1
Devotedly serve such a Guide and Master that you may achieve the vision of the Lord.
I am bound to You by love. I am bound by so great a love to my sweet Lord. It is with You that my ties are formed, o my Master. I am bound to You by love.
ejee aavaa gur-nar saamee saathe, jenne jeeve yaaree-aa
tene dil thakee dunee-aa visaareeyaa...tam su(n)..................2
The creature whose loving friendship is given to such a Guide and Lord, the Master, has abandoned all memory of the world in his heart.
ejee aavaa pa(n)j bhu vas karee,
chaare jug ni kalaa gur nee joelaa;
karoddee tetrees devataa naa melaa maa(n)he hoelaa...tam su(n)....3
By thus subduing the five passions, the Guide's marvellous power that endures through the four ages is seen, and one enters the company of the thirty-three crores of deities.
ejee aavaa paachham dise saamee raajo aaveaa
evaa gur-mukhe ginaan sa(m)bhalaayaa...tam su(n)..................4
Thus has the Royal Master appeared in the Western quarter. This knowledge is announced through the Guide.
ejee peer boleaa sat-gur sohodev saaree-aa;
maare momane ku(n) beheshat deedaaree-aa...tam su(n)..............5
The Peer has said: the Divine Guide has remembered you and said, 'My believers will be granted the vision of heaven.'
