July 1953 - Sir Sultan Mohamed Shah, Aga Khan III wrote in 'The Times' newspaper of England, 'For as long as we can foresee, the British people are the trustees of the population of East Africa, irrespective of race and colour...There can be no real union in East Africa among the races if any portion of them believes that the trustees are divided or that they have particular favourite wards.'
