1. Gallery Section: There is a LOT of work left to do, but I have figured out how to have a gallery section on the new heritage: http://www.ismaili.net/heritage/galleries Four types of entries can be exhibited: news events, persons, places, subjects. When editing one of these 4 types of entries, we can check a box called "exhibit?" in order to place that entry in the gallery section. - News are still being uploaded, the news events with the most material will have to be flagged for the gallery. - People need more updates - Places need more updates - Subjects need to be better categorized 2. Youth section: - Shenny is interested in helping to create a Religious Education Section full of materials to complement the Talim Curriculum, organized with the same subject headings as the Talim (this is what she does for BUI anyways) - I have some ideas for transferring and creating games - I have some ideas for other sections like Ginan/dua teaching sections. - Timeframe is probably december 3. News transfer - I'm paying a non-ismaili contact from North Carolina who is very competent and who I just found out develops a lot with drupal, so this work is happening right now. It is a lot of work to transfer and re-organize news. Please lets stop adding news to the old site. 4, Audio - There are hundreds of audio files that need to be classified and published, I have asked Layla and Hussein, and they are taking a long time to respond even though they have enthusiasm and they asked for work 5. Images - A lot of older images are not linked to their news events, and don't have captions. It's a big job, but if you are enjoying it, you can start, then I'll give it to one of the others when they are free. 7. Documents - Now that the bibliography is online, articles, books, and reviews will be easily linked to the bibliographies. - I will attempt to add a few every week. 8. Varia - There is some infrastructure and module update work that is necessary. I do this slowly and carefully and occasionally when I am inspired. - Since a lot of speeches and interviuews have been recently added, I have started linking the main page quotes to their full content. It is a fairly easy job - do you want me to teach Inaara? .. Otherwise I will try to do a few every week. 9. Users, Forums Transfer - I can't get Nick to work on it, even though on the phone he says "OK, I'm doing it right now" I think he is stuck.. 10. Putting html comments on the front page - I know you like to put comments, announcements and teasers at the top of the main page, and it gives a nice human touch to the site. I can create a place on the new site for you to put your html code and write anything you like at the top of the main page. - For example, look at this page: http://www.ismaili.net/heritage/galleries The message at the top can be modified by editing the body of this story node: http://www.ismaili.net/heritage/node/29366

quote - seljuks

The Seljuks proved unable to create a strong, durable and centralized Empire or to destroy the Fatimid Anti-Caliphate in Egypt. Their conceptions of government were primitive, and despite the efforts of Nizam al-Mulk to instruct them in the principles of ancient Persian despotism, which he regarded as the only satisfactory form of rule, they treated their realm as family property..

quote - cycles

Countless cycles of manifestation and concealment succeed each other until the Great Resurrection (qiyamat al-qiyamat) which consummates the megacycle (al-kawr al-a'zam), sometimes specified to last 360,000 times 360,000 years.

Quote - illuminati

It is from Islam that we in the West can extend a lot of gratitude towards, for preserving works of antiquity from being completely lost to us. This is not something to be passed over lightly, as so many people might tend to do, when considering the past. The implications here are great. Outside of the surviving schools of the Thebaid brethren, and the Jewish schools in France, Spain, and Southern Germany, intellectual culture did not exist, in the West during the so-called Dark Ages. The degradation brought upon society by the Church lasted until...

OK, I just created an account for you. Here are instructions that I have given to others in the past: http://www.ismaili.net/heritage/node/26459 http://www.ismaili.net/heritage/node/24590 http://www.ismaili.net/heritage/node/17211 http://www.ismaili.net/heritage/node/15807 http://www.ismaili.net/heritage/node/15792 Images are added using the Image module and they are displayed using the acidfree module, not the default image galleries. Videos are added using the flashvideo module News Items, Images, videos and mp3 audio, are linked to News events by entering the news event name in their news event node reference filed. Image Attach module is used to attach one image to the teaser of a news item or event. By convention: - all news events and news item names must end with " - yyyy-mm-dd" This makes it easier to search for events to link news items to. - all new images should start with yyyymmdd-city-###-... if they don't in the old site, then name them "yyyymmdd-oldname.jpg" - all video names should start with yyyy-mm-dd Be careful not to attach news items to the wrong news event because of date proximity - Amber made some mistakes there that I will need to fix at some point. Here's a view to help see if your articles are linked to the right news event: http://ismaili.net/heritage/newsevents_sortarticles/admin
