teeth aatthmee aavyaa gaam naa lok, jue sarave saartheere lol.....1

On the eight night the people of the town have come,
this is seen by all the fellow dancers!

gur shams gaaye meetthaa bol, sunne sarave maleene re lol.........2

The Guide Shams sings sweet verses, and all gather and listen to it!

gur bhaa(n)khe amarat geenaan ke, aad unneeyaadthee re lol........3

The Guide has expounded the nector (water of life) of the "geenaan"
of the beginning period and indeed pre-eternity!

jyaare rachyaa(n) jameen aasmaan ke, pavan paanneeyaare lol.......4

Of the time when the heavens and the earth were created,
and the winds and water!

taare upanee chaarei khaann ke, addhaar bhaar vanaspatee re lol...5

There came forth the four constituent elements of creation and the
vegetables weighing eighteen units!

teno daado aadam ishvar saar, te rachyaa nur thakeere lol.........6

His grandfather is Adam and indeed Ishvar,
he created by virtue of the Light!

pahelaa sauthee upanaa pa(n)jetan paak
te nur thakee rachyaa(n) re lol...................................7

At first the "pa(n)jetan paak" (the five pure bodies, viz Hazarat Ali,
Prophet Muhammed, Hazarat Bibi Fatima, Hazarat Hassan and Imaam Husein)
were established. They were created through the Light!

te deenthee upajyo satpa(n)th dharam, je jaanne maram nere lol....8

Since that day the True Path was established,
this is for those who understand the mysteries (of life)!

je maane mukhee gat jumlo jamaat, te chhuttaave karam nere lol....9

The one who follows the Mukhee of the congregation,
will have released his the karmic bonds!

gatmaa(n)he chhe kallaa ana(n)t apaar
sarave bharpur chhe re lol.......................................10

In the congregation there is limitless power and all
of it is present everywhere therein!

gatmaa(n)he jakh megh keenar saar, dev tetrees karoddeeyaare lol.11

In the congregation are present the "jakhs", "meghs", "keenars"
in a complete manner, as well as the spirits of the thirty three crores!

gatmaa(n)he chhe vyaapak oleeyaa saar
je tej dharee rahyaa re lol......................................12

In the congregation are present the descendants of the
Imaams in their entirety, they have maintained the forms of Light!

gatmaa(n)he chhe gur nar vyaapak saar, te tej dharee rahyaa lol..13

In the congregation is the presence of the Guide and the Master
(Haazar Imaam) in a complete manner, he has maintained
himself in the form of light therein!

gatmaa(n)he chhe aape seerjannhaar ke
sadaa bharpur rahyaa re lol......................................14

In the congregation is the Creator himself,
and He is indeed always omnipresent there!

evo mugatee maarag te gatmaa(n)he, je jaanne te leeyere lol......15

Such a path of salvation is indeed in the congregation,
the ones who understand this, attain it!

te to gaafal duneeyaa na jaanne koi, je gafalatmaa(n) rahere lol.16

This is not understood by the ignorant world, who have remained in ignorance!

gurjee kahe chhe samjaai ke, jaanno tame jaanneeyaare lol........17

The Guide tells you in an explanatory manner,
know the ones who have understood this!

evo bhed bataave gurjee aap ke, bhulo ma murkhore lol............18

Such mysteries have been shown to you by the Guide,
so do not forget it o foolish ones!

em bolyaa gur shams peer ke, kathe gur geenaan nere lol..........19

In such manner the Guide Peer Shams has spoken,
and has expounded to you the "geenaans" of the Guide!

teeth navmee aavyaa gurujee aap, rame sarave saartheere lol.......1

On the nineth night the Guide has come to you,
and all the companions (truthful ones) dance!

te maa(n)he ramyaa aape sujaann, kathee vaannee ghannee re lol....2

In the dance, the All Knowing and the wise one himself danced!
and expounded many verses!

kareeyaa pa(n)jetan paaknaa vakhaann, upaavann nurnee re lol......3

He praised the five pure bodies and preached about the Light!

jyaa(n) sarjyaa kutub taaraa nur, te pa(n)jetan paaknaare lol.....4

Where the Light of the Star of "Qutb" (tablet) was established,
there were the five pure bodies!

te to see(n)ter hajaar varas ugamataa saar
faree em ugataare lol.............................................5

It took seventy thousand years for it to arise,
in this manner is has grown again!

te taaraa nabee mahamad naam, alee seer taajeeyaare lol...........6

The name of this star was Muhammed,
and it shines on the head of Aly!

jenaa ha(n)s galaamaa(n) faatmaa nur, zabuke jem veejallee re lol.7

And in the necklace of whom the light of Fatima glitters like lightening!

tene be kaane dur imaam hasan husen samaave tejmaa(n)re lol.......8

In the holes of his two ears Imaams Hassan and Husein fit as (earings) of Light!

tenne nur rachyaa saat paataal, rachaavyo aasmaan ne re lol.......9

It's Light created the seven undersurfaces, and had the heavens created as well!

tenne aras kurash ne keedhaa aap, loh kalam sarjeeyaa re lol.....10

He himself created the Throne, and established the guarded tablet!

tyaa(n) loh kalamthee lakhyaa naam, muneevar devnaar lol.........11

There, from the Guarded tablet, He inscribed the Names (or knowledge),
to be given to the believers!

je satpa(n)th dharam dheeyaave jan, lakhyaa tene dharee re lol...12

The ones who worship the religion of the True Path,
have upon them inscribed (this name or knowledge)!

taare dasho(n)dno maa(n)ddyo devaakaar
jennethee chhuttshore lol........................................13

At that time the Giver (or the Divine Giver) established the tithe,
by observance of which you will be freed!

te to kaayaa kaseene deeje daan, dasho(n)d shudh karee re lol....14

Submit the charity of the tithe having mortified your bodies,
thereby purify your tithe!

e to pyaaree chhe narjeene aap ke, je jan kasaavtaare lol........15

The one who mortifies him/herself in this manner,
is indeed dear to the Master himself!

eto gur nare bataavee kasannee saar, muneevar tame karjore lol...16

The Guide has indeed shown the methods of mortification
in a complete manner, o believers perform them!

to paamsho tame pele paar ke, aveechal raajeeyaa re lol..........17

You will thereby attain the limits (of material existence)
and have the everlasting kingdom (of peace)!

In this manner the Guide Shams has spoken, all your tasks
will be made easy (if you follow the advice)!
