The Nation Media Group is exactly 50 years today(Thursday) and the highlight of the celebrations, the Pan Africa media Conference was opened on Thursday morning by president Mwai Kibaki. At the opening ceremony, the president lauded the role played by the media in opening up the democratic space.

Nation media group staff were treated to a sumptuous breakfast as Celebrations to mark 50 years continued. Long serving members of staff were also awarded at the function held at the KICC by His Highness the Aga Khan.

As part of marking its 50th anniversary Nation Media Group on Thursday night hosted a dinner for delegates and dignitaries at the KICC. Vice president Kalonzo Musyoka lauded NMG for its bravery attitude of exposing vices like corruption and nepotism.
