INSTUCTIONS: Transferring News Items from old galleries

I have a bunch of news galleries in the old site for which the news event exists in the new site, but there is no news item under it (articles, speech, press release, etc..). So you have to take each news item, and enter it into the new site. For each gallery in the old site, you will see, in the new site, an almost empty news EVENT As you add news ITEMS to the new site, you will link them to the news EVENT page, and you will see that EVENT page fill up. Here are the specifics: 1. Log on to http://ismaili.net/heritage 2. Keep the news event page open in a separate window and refresh it from time to time to see your work get added to that page. This time, the News EVENT page is: http://ismaili.net/heritage/node/12385 "HH THE AGA KHAN VISITS INDIA - 2006-09-20" 3. Keep the old site open in another window. This is where you will get the articles to transfer: http://ismaili.net/gallery/2006india/india2006main.html concentrate on News and Speeches 4. Create a news item for the first news article: On Http://ismaili.net/heritage click on "Create Content" -> "News Item" -In "Go To News Event:" Start typing the date "2006-09" and a list of events will drop down. Choose "HH THE AGA KHAN VISITS INDIA - 2006-09-20". This is how you link this article to the news EVENT page. -In "From Date": enter the date in the format YYYY-MM-DD -In "Title": enter the article title followed by a dash and the date, ex: "Aga Khan arrives today on 3-day trip - 2006-09-18" -In "News Item type": Enter whether this is an article, a speech, an interview or a press release. -Fill in all other fields for which you have information. The article gets pasted as text in the "Story" field. -If there is an image corresponding to an article, get the file name of the image, and look for it in the "Attached Images" - "Existing Images" dropdown list, and select it. This won't happen often. 5. Repeat step 4 until all articles, speeches, press releases have been entered, then move on to the next gallery
