Islamabad: Due to its sustainable initiatives to improve living conditions of more than 200 villages in Pakistan, the Aga Khan Planning and Building Service Pakistan’s (AKPBS-P) Water and Sanitation Extension Programme (WASEP) was recently awarded with the National Energy Globe Award.

The award is conferred in a grand ceremony organised on the United Nation UN World Environment Day in Kigali, Rwanda, as WASEP was able to outshine more than 800 entries from 111 countries. WASEP was also short-listed as one of the top three projects in the prestigious Water Category Award.

Mawlana Hazar Imam visited the French Ministry of the Interior at Place Beauvau, where he met Michèle Alliot-Marie, Minister of the Interior, Overseas France and Local Authorities. Afterwards, Hazar Imam and Prince Rahim were welcomed by Prime Minister François Fillon at the Hôtel Matignon, the Prime Minister's official residence.

Damascus, (SANA)- Prime Minister Mohammad Naji Ottri and His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan, Head of Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), on Monday discussed fields and prospects of cooperation between the Syrian government and the Network in the economic, social, cultural, development and tourist areas in light of the cooperation agreement signed between the two sides.

Both sides reviewed a set of projects which the AKDN intends to initiate in Syria, particularly rural development, broadening and expanding the program of funding the small-size projects and infrastructure services.
