2016, November 11: Amb.Liberat Mfumukeko, Secretary General of the East African Community and Ex-OfficioMember of Parliament met H.H. The Aga Khan who agreed to upgrade Dar hospital to 600 beds and extend AKDN Hospitals & Universities to all countries across the region.

The Secretary General of the EAC was in Brussels for a funding meeting at the EU Commission.

His Highness the Aga Khan holds discussions with Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner, Commissioner for External Relations.

On Wednesday, May 22nd, 1991, Mawlana Hazar Imam and Mr. Abel Matutes, the European Community Commissioner responsible for North-South relations, as well as relations with Asia, signed an agreement in Brussels, marking the granting of ECU 8 million ($ 9.3 million) by the Commission for the European Communities (CEC) in support of health, education and rural development programmes in Chitral, Northern Pakistan.

President José Manuel Barroso of the European Commission and His Highness the Aga Khan, Founder and Chairman of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), today signed a Joint Declaration. that aims to broaden the scope of their collaboration on development endeavours, strengthening civil society institutions, promoting governance and social inclusion, in countries of Central, South and West Asia, sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East.
