Tanzania: AKF Seeks to Develop Sunflower Markets
Posted August 8th, 2017 by librarian-hdDar es Salaam — The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) has launched a 2-year initiative called 'Sustainable and Inclusive Sunflower Market Development Project' or 'Alizeti Maendeleo in Lindi and Mtwara regions.
The initiative is the result of a partnership with the Agricultural Markets Development Trust (AMDT), which is a collaboration with the governments of Denmark, Ireland, Sweden and Switzerland, and local government authorities.

Speaking on the occasion, President of His Highness Prince Aga Khan Shia Imami Ismaili Council for Tanzania, Mr Amin Lakhani, said under the leadership of His Highness, The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), worked tirelessly in Tanzania to create various development programmes.

Tanzania: Govt Praises Aga Khan On Investments 2016-07-20
Posted July 20th, 2016 by librarian-hdDar es Salaam — The government has commended the Aga Khan Development Network for its contribution to the economic development of the country.
Deputy minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation Susan Kolimba said the network has invested heavily in education, healthcare, culture, infrastructure and tourism.
She said this on Monday evening during the commemoration of the 59th anniversary of the Ascension to the Ismaili Imamat of His Highness the Aga Khan as the 49th hereditary spiritual leader of the Shia Ismaili.

This was revealed here last week during the occasion in which the East African Community (EAC) and the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) were signing a pivotal agreement to strengthen and broaden cooperation in the areas of economic, social and cultural development throughout East Africa.
